COVERGIRL Blast (Product Review)

I am a BzzAgent and occasionally get sent products to test out & review, and share with other people. Recently I was sent Covergirl's new Smoky ShadowBlast (eyeshadow) & new ShineBlast Lip Gloss to try.

The Smoky ShadowBlast is an easy 2-step eye shadow stick with specially designed applicator tips to easily deliver a colorful smoky eye:
  • Step 1: Rounded end for shading the lid
  • Step 2: Tapered end for lining the crease and the upper and lower lids
It also comes in six color combinations that have been matched by professional make-up artist Pat McGrath:

  • Silver Sky
  • Onyx Smoke
  • Bronze Fire
  • Purple Plume
  • Citrus Flair
  • Tempest Blue
While the applicator tips do make it easy to apply your eye makeup, I was not impressed. I don't find it hard to put on eye makeup anyways, but my complaint is that this stuff is so slick, I had to go over & over my eyelid with the eyeshadow to get it where my skin wasn't showing through the shadow. That is forgivable, as it also allows you to just lightly color your eyelids. But what really turned me off was that after just wearing it for a very short time, it creased horribly on my eyelid. The slickness of the shadow also prevented me from being able to apply my eyeliner. So...sorry to say but I'm not a fan.

The ShineBlast Lip Gloss

  • Delivers a good amount of shine
  • Breakthrough ShineSculpt™ applicator hugs your lips' contours for optimum, smooth application and 4x more noticeable shine* The applicator is a little flattened on one side instead of being completely round like most lip glosses--I liked this.
  • It is available in 16 vibrant, shimmer and shine shades

    • Dazzle
    • Ablaze
    • Flare
    • Glimmer
    • Ignite
    • Sparkler
    • Heat
    • Firecracker
    • Aglow
    • Glow
    • Radiate
    • Fire
    • Smolder
    • Ember
    • Beam
    • Gleam
I actually really like the lip gloss. The applicator is nice & the gloss is not sticky or anything like that. It does add a nice shine! I tried the Silver Sky Smoky ShadowBlast and the bright pink ShineBlast Lip Gloss (I don't know the name of the shade because it doesn't say on the tube-hopefully Covergirl will change that).

Here are some pics for ya

L'Oréal® Paris Lash Boosting Serum/Mascara (Product Review)

I am a Bzz Agent & had the pleasure of participating in the Bzz Campaign for L'Oréal® Paris Lash Boosting Serum & Mascara. This special combination of products is designed to actually make your lashes grow! YESSS!!! I was so excited about this, as my lashes have thinned out & lost length over the years.

I was sent the L-Oreal Paris Concentrated Lash Boosting Serum, which you apply in the morning underneath your mascara & on bare lashes at night. Lashes are supposed to appear thicker & multiplied in just 4 weeks with less lash fall-out when removing make up. I was also sent the L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara, which has a serum-enriched Lash Boosting Primer on one end & an ultra-lengthening mascara topcoat on the other end. This is supposed to build longer, thicker, fuller lashes when you apply it. First you apply the Lash Boosting Primer to prep lashes & boost their condition, then apply the Ultra-Lengthening Mascara topcoat for 80% longer lashes instantly.

So........did it work? I am happy to say...yes! I am not paid to review this product, and as with all my reviews, I give my honest opinion (plus that's part of being a Bzzz Agent). I did miss a few days within the 4 week period, but I have noticed my lashes are longer, have more fullness, and I do have less lashes falling out, all confirming L'Oreal's claims. So way to go, L'Oreal! The mascara is also a great mascara, one of the best I've ever tried. I would post pictures but our digital camera is on the fritz. If I can get it back in working order, I will add in pictures later.

You can buy the products separately or together in a value package. The value package includes both products for $24.95. Separately, the Lash Boosting Serum is $14.95 & the Double Extend Lash Boosting Mascara is $12.95.

More information:
  • Ophthalmologist- and allergy-tested, and safe for sensitive eyes & contact lens wearers
  • Available in the L'Oreal Paris cosmetics section in major retailers such as Walmart, Target, CVS & Walgreens
  • Visit www.lorealparisusa.com to learn more

Also, please give me your feedback & let me know if YOU have used this product & what you think about it!

Soft Scrub Total (Product Review)

softscrub_total

I recently was invited to be a Soft Scrub Captain-meaning Soft Scrub would send me some of their products to try & I would share my thoughts about them with you!

Soft Scrub sent me one of their new products, Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl, which is an all-purpose cleaner for the bathroom. You can use it everywhere in the bathroom--shower, bathtub, toilet (inside & out), sinks & counters. I tried it out & it does have some really neat features. For one, there are two settings on the sprayer: one for a regular full-coverage spray, and one for a deep-cleaning foam.

I really liked the foaming part, as we have a problem toilet in one of our bathrooms which seems to soak up all the grime in the world & doesn't get much better after I clean it (it has a porous toilet seat that I think is the problem). Soft Scrub's new cleaner really helped with that--I could really tell the difference after I cleaned our toilet with it--it looked & smelled much better. I also really liked the foaming action for the sink. The only thing you need to do to switch between foam & regular spray is open or close the little plastic cover on the spray nozzle.

Another neat feature is that you can turn the cleaning bottle upside down & it still works! This is great as it's really helps when spraying around the rim of your toilet bowl for cleaning (& for anything else you might need to turn the bottle upside down for).

After cleaning, our bathroom was really shiny. The only complaint I have is that the smell was a bit strong, for me anyways.

I'm going to post some of my pictures below for you to see the real thing in action:

Here is the bottle:

Here is what to do to make a regular spray: just open the little plastic cover on the nozzle:

A nice, shiny toilet! (Ignore the black mark on the seat--that's where paint is chipped off).

So what do you think? Does this sound like a neat idea?
